Our Story
David is from Mérida. Megan is from Calgary. They met in Ottawa while working in property management, and after years of dreaming about building a life together in Yucatán, they made the move full-time in 2022.
What started as helping friends and family navigate the local real estate market quickly turned into something bigger. They realized that Americans and Canadians exploring Mérida needed more than just a real estate agent — they needed someone who understood both worlds. Someone who could explain the legal process in plain English, recommend the right neighborhoods, and be honest about the challenges alongside the opportunities.
That's how Yucatán Real Estate Group was born. Today, David and Megan run a small, dedicated team that helps families buy property, build custom homes, and settle into life in Mérida. Their YouTube channel — with over 5,000 subscribers and nearly 100 educational videos — has become one of the most trusted English-language resources for anyone considering a move to Yucatán.

He leads the client advisory side of the business — helping buyers find the right property, negotiate fair prices, and navigate the closing process. His calm, structured approach puts clients at ease during what can be a complex experience.

Originally from Calgary, Canada, Megan understands firsthand what it's like to move to another country. She runs marketing, content, and operations — including the YouTube channel that has helped thousands of families learn about life in Mérida.
